Balance your mind and body with this fusion of yoga, Pilates and a little laughter! Discover your core, legs and gluts in a whole new way by combining the lengthening powers of yoga with the muscle enhancing powers of Pilates, then lay back and dive in deep with some restorative magic. A class that will truly balance your yin and yang side while engaging the muscles that yoga often misses.

This blissful yoga class is designed to balance your yoga practice and create better body awareness, strength and flexibly. Yin Yoga has the same goals as other schools of yoga; however, it directs the stimulation normally created in the asana portion of the practice deeper than the superficial or muscular tissues (Yang Tissue) Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues of the shoulders arms, spine, hips, pelvis, and legs of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice. Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga.

Perfect for those newer to yoga, who have injuries or chronic pain, or prefer a slower pace. Restorative yoga is also the perfect compliment to an active lifestyle. This class will allow you to find the time and ability to slow down and let your body and mind relax. The use of props provides a completely supportive environment for total relaxation. Each restorative sequence is designed to move the spine in all directions for ease of mobility. The practice facilitates deep release in connective tissue, calms the nervous system, and leaves the practitioner feeling nourished and restored.

 

PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT METHOD

 In Progressive Movement Method, Strength, Mobility, Stability, Flexibility, Sensitivity, Agility & Balance are regarded as skills and practiced as such. Functional Strength and Movement is what this is all about. Age, or the condition of your body has no significance. All can benefit from some aspects of Progressive Movement Method. We practice movements slowly, with utmost control to protect ourselves from injury, and to improve our bodies to their fullest. While PMM is not perfect, it is constantly improving, and evolving, like the concept of Yin & Yang. Keep the body moving in all the ways it was designed to. We need to  give our bodies a reason to improve and heal.

The teaching staff creates a unique and diverse vinyasa practice sequence for the Hot Yoga enthusiast looking for a little bit more movement in their practice.

This all levels class is an alignment focused flow class. It will increase your understanding of transitions between postures and deepening alignment through breath work (Pranayama). This class will focus on energizing your postures using long holds as well as vinyasa style flow. Beginners welcome, modifications will be offered when needed.

Mindful Vinyasa - Classes focus on the importance of alignment, breath, and mindfulness. Through asana this class can be challenging but students will gain a more profound understanding of their own body and mind.

Hot Yoga

The practice of Hot Yoga brings vital balance and restores all systems to optimal health. Consistency will create a physical, mental and spiritual harmony that will be felt in all areas of the practitioner's life. At Life in Balance we offer our students four distinct Hot Class Choices aimed at  enhancing your total health through the balancing and strengthen every system in your body.

 

Why HOT?  We do this to allow the body to move deeper into postures to lessen the possibility of injury. Your body will feel cleansed and energized because it will be functioning at 100% optimization.

A set series of 26 Yoga Asanas

26 postures are done in a systematic way so that the muscles  are  stretched and contracted to improve circulation to the joints and  body. This series of postures works against gravity to strengthen the bones. A total body workout that is great for the beginner, intermediate and the advanced practitioner.
